Soothing the Senses with Susan Weis-Bohlen

Like us, dogs are living in a sensory-oriented world. Each of their senses (sight, smell, touch, taste, and hearing) can be used as powerful gateways to improving health and wellbeing.

Sounds (like mantras and music), smells, images and colors can all deeply affect your dog’s wellbeing. Certain sensory elements can even help balance, or even throw off, your dog’s particular dosha!

But sometimes it can be hard to determine which smells, sounds, and sights are benefiting your dog — and once you do know, how can you be sure you are using them safely and effectively?

Susan Weis-Bohlen is an Ayurvedic practitioner and chef, and is a top expert at using the senses to balance each dosha. After meeting Susan through our connection to Dr. Deepak Chopra, deepened by our soulful connection to the canine kingdom, Susan became a friend and mentor. That’s why we’re thrilled she will be a guest speaker in our signature course, Total Wellbeing for Dogs. She’ll help our students learn how and why particular sounds, music, images, colors, and aromas are ideal for your dog’s dosha!

Consider how your state of being changes when listening to different types of sounds; classical vs. heavy metal, early more construction vs. the light crashing of waves in the distance. Why would this be any different for our dogs?
